Nice place if you are into gambling. It is not Vegas but it is descent.

This place is doing it right. The hotel is top notch. Our room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. We had an amazing view of the rolling countryside around the casino. Large shower and the bed was amazing. Clean as heck too.
I'm not a huge casino guy but it was easy to get around and play the slots. I really like their air conditioning/filter system. Smoke was extremely minimal and you could feel cool air wherever you went. Plenty of non-smoking areas.
Bowling alley looks phenomenal. We ate at the buffet and it was off the hook good. Friendly service and the food was upper level. I was really impressed.

So Red Hawk now has a gorgeous hotel. The rooms are very comfy and we had a nice view of the mountains with snow.
The staff is very friendly. I lost a lot but had fun. Hope next time, I can win a little. The only thing I don't like is because it is so high, the floor moves in the casino. Makes you feel like there is an earthquake.
The casino is clean, cool and well taken care of. I think hubby and I might have to come back a few time to see how we like it.

Machines that I used to play, I can't find or are no longer here. Really friendly staff and a perk is free non-alcoholic drinks that are self serve. They have added a hotel and a huge gaming area for kids. Still getting a feel for the place.

Lawrence Taylor, my executive host, was friendly and provided excellent customer service. Communication with him is always easy and his response is rapid. I appreciate him for setting a good tone on what I would get from Red Hawk.
Valet parking for the hotel is separate from the casino's main valet parking. This moves things along quicker than most casinos resort I've visited. From valet to front desk - the hotel check in and check out process is smooth and stress free. The room was clean and even the lobby is beautiful aesthetically decorated. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and you can't beat the view from my room. Highly recommended for those looking for a resort stay in the area or just want to get out of Sacramento. We really enjoyed our stay at the Red Hawk Resort hotel!
To be honest, we don't gamble and solely picked this for its location and its connection to the Apex gaming building.
COST:
Prices were surprisingly steep for a hotel room attached to a casino (I thought they usually made these more affordable so folks stay there?) - I think we paid around $380 for a room with two queen beds.
PARKING:
Free parking ramp and free valet!
ROOMS:
We loved our room! Very clean and high-end style with a lovely shower, bathroom, and comfy beds. It all seemed very luxury!
POOL/HOT TUB:
The pool is not heated so we didn't make use of it, but we used the hot tub twice during our stay and were the only ones in both times! Great jets and fun triangle shape.
CASINO:
We didn't gamble, but from walking through, it looked pretty standard. Smoking is legal inside, so was stinky for us non-smokers.
APEX:

My husband I visited this casino on the way home from our sons new place 10 minutes away. My mom loves casinos and this one means she would get to visit her grandson when she does her thing so we were checking it out. We spent an hour here, James played craps and I found a slot. We left with extra money. A mailer quickly was sent with $15 free play.
So I brought my mom so she could get comfortable with it and check out the hotel.
We had a good time. We didn't win but her goal was to get a free hotel room offer- we will see. I joked cuz just getting a hotel room would be cheaper than getting the offer but she just gives me an eye roll and then her beautiful smile.
I appreciate the beverage stations everywhere. And the bathrooms were enough so I could go pee without losing my mom.
I felt like the dining options are very pricey.

Red Hawk CasinoJan 4, 2023Previous reviewIf you are a person of color, beware. Trying to get a drink or something from the bar is a hot mess. Some many times you're overlooked for other persons of lighter skin. There has been a few complaints but they don't care. Don't go, and you really don't win as much as the other casino. I tried it one last time and had the same experience. I have complained now I am going to file a former complaint. They have videos where they can pull up and see this blantant display of racism!
Jan 14, 2021Previous reviewI just left and they have a recording stating over and over again that.."Mask are required. Masks must cover your mouth and nose ". So when I asked a staff to ask the man near me (who wasn't drinking, eating or smoking)..to put his mask over his nose, the staff wouldn't. He stated it was not required. So I asked another staff,and she said the same thing!

It's been a long time I was here. Came here to see if there's any changes. Went to Pearl Restaurant first to have early dinner. Dinner was absolutely delicious. Go to Pearl Restaurant, it's reasonable price and no waiting. The Buffett is too expensive and the line is too long. Need reservation.
If you all coming here, make sure to carry cash with you. Because their ATM charge $4.50

On a date night, my husband and I drove up to Red Hawk casino to meet another couple. We were excited to be double dating, and it was our first time there.
Unfortunately, for us, we did not make a reservation to do the go karts ahead of time, and when we got there around 6 PM, we were told the next available race was 9:30 PM.
Luckily, we decided to spend some time gambling and had a dinner reservation at the steakhouse. My biggest qualm with Red Hawk casino and other casinos like it is the fact that they allow indoor smoking. The air filtration system definitely does not suffice, and all of us left the casino with our throats and eyes burning from the copious amounts of secondhand smoke. I would definitely come back to enjoy another night out if the smoking situation improved - as we did enjoy our time doing the go karts.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

They've opened the ayce buffet! They opened apex and now have a hotel! They've really upgraded and have def. become a destination for us! For the whole family. Apex is prolly my favorite spot. We went and ate ayce at Koto Buffet (reserve your spot ahead of time online! Itl save u a hassle.) then hubby went to play games and me n my little brother (15) went to Apex and chilled in the bowling alley couches then hit the arcade and played pool. Having Pool there is a game changer (the space can be inadequate if it's packed but that is part of the game.). Fun stuff for everyone. There's even a bar inside apex with like 8 slot machines.
The Koto buffet is really good. It is pricy but pretty good if you have comp benefits. We love the ayce weekend seafood special. So much variety including their dessert bar. Note though I think they took out lobster tail.
We had stayed at the hotel previously and it was so sweet. The customer service ... top tier. The hotel so perfect, spacious and we had a good view. They also had continental breakfast included! It's not a hot bar, just fresh fruits, muffins, pastries and cereal but it was more than any other casino-hotel nearby.
The play is really good. There's old school machines, new video machines, tables, large non-smoking downstairs, the hosts are super nice and approachable. I haven't gotten a jackpot but I enjoy myself every time. Customer appreciation is great too with freeplay and points that you can actually see add up. Unlike other casinos (won't mention them) where it's like for every $500 you get 1 pt and it's 100 points for $1. I'm a little over exaggerating lol. But still. Idk if I've ever given 5 stars but they def deserve it.

This is my favorite casino near the Sacramento area. I cant wait for them to open a resort. Itd be a beautiful place to stay. The comps are nice too. We can get food and sometimes we get enough for a pack of cigs. I haven't won big yet but i still prefer this place over others like Thunder Valley (so close to being first) and Jackson. Fingers crossed. Gaming experience is nice.
I would give 5 stars if i wrote this review before covid19 because waterfall buffet was an awesome place to go after a few hours of gaming. The food court right now needs a lot of help. I usually go to Hawks because i can het semi-worth the amount i would pay. My hubby and i go to the asian cuisine and the food is alright. I wish there was more choices for the plates. Also portions are so small...or at least it looks like it. 2 pieces of shrimp count as an entree. 3 pieces of short ribs (pretty small) count as an entree and its like the food has been sitting there a while :/ There weren't compartments to separate the food i got so it kinda was just a blob of asian foods. We finally tried the 33 dollar seafood boil and to say we were disappointed was an understatement. We have been wanting seafood for a while and decided to go all out lol compared to before this was so small. 1 small lobster, 6 tiny shrimps, 3 corn, 5 mussels, 1 long sausage, snow crab legs (like 3) and a claw from a crab (if i remember correctly). I was excited when we got it but it tasted like it was cooked days before and just rewarmed. The ends of the shrimp were dry and a little chewy (i know...shrimp is easy to overcook but cmon). The lobster was dry as well and the rest we ate bwcause we were hungry. But if i had to choose i wish i gave it back and asked for a refund. The workers are great. They are kind and are always willing to help but the food needs help. At least go bigger on portions bc its a little expensive (compared to before). I feel at waterfall the cost to eat was worth it. Now...nah. Anyway i love redhawk and im excited to see more improvements. Theyve taken a lot of measures to keep us safe and i appreciate that. Stay safe y'all and good luck!
