Holiday Inn Express & Suites El Dorado Hills

Stayed here on a Sunday night and so glad we did. The facility was spacious and clean. Staffs were friendly, informative but quick.

They offer free internet with decent speed. Complimentary breakfast everyday. Pool, fitness center, gym, and business center available. Guest laundry's wash costs $4.50, dry $2.75 and soap for $3. Incidental hold was $50 per day which will be released upon check out.

We had two beds and the room was modern, spacious and clean. They have more than enough of charging outlets for recharging your electronics. Free coffee and tea available. Love that they have both microwave and refrigerator inside the room. They offer Dove brands hand wash (instead if soap - love it!), lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the clean and bright bathroom. Plus, they have Disney channel! Perhaps for our toddler.

One thing that this facility is missing would be a bar and/or restaurant for guest to unwind at the lobby. Other than that, perfect hotel facility and we will be back for sure.

Would you pay $179 for a room at Holiday Inn, when you could get a larger size suite for $149 at Hampton Inn Folsom by Broadstone Shopping Mall 5 miles closer to Sacramento?

Christmas Eve, drove 150 miles from Sunnyvale, leaving at 10:20 am and arrived here at 1:20pm on the Saturday before Christmas with surprisingly no accidents on the 237-880-680-580-205-5-50 corridor.

Got a room on the second floor of the 4-story hotel, with parking spaces surrounding the hotel. Interior corridors, and no balconies.

11' x 20' unit or 220 square feet for $179 compared to 17' x 17' or 284 square feet for $149 at Hampton Inn. This room did not have a separate room for the living room from the bedroom, but everything in one room.

Bathroom sink and vanity mirror within bathroom itself, with a larger than normal bathtub, alongside the toilet in the windowless bathroom. Inconveniently long left arm reach to reach the toilet paper roll while seated.

Bedroom had one large window, with both sheer and blackout curtains, with sitting chair in the corner around the two full size beds. Ottoman, desk, with multiple electrical plugs available in the desktop, and

Mirrored sliding door closet, with electronic safe, microwave, mini refrigerator, kitchen sink. Neither the Hampton Inn Folsom nor the Hilton Garden Inn Folsom had electronic safes.

Thin walls. Could hear the upstairs neighbors' footfalls like a pack of elephants and could hear both my wife and the next-door neighbors snoring, while sitting on the toilet at 5am, reading Yelp reviews.

View out the window of the AC vents on the rooftop. Morning sunshine. If you came here for the view you came to the wrong hotel room.

We were in room 206. Could be worse. Could be in room 204 or 203 right next to the elevator and ice machine.

Hotel had an outdoor pool, outdoor hot tub, fitness center room, 2 pcs, and printer in lobby, fitness gym, washer-dryer room, breakfast section in the lobby for complimentary hot breakfast, including scrambled eggs and bacon.

Restaurants within 200 yards include Aji Japanese Bistro, Milestone restaurant, Thai Paradise, Roostarz Hot Chicken, Bamiyan Aghan, Sushi Kuma, Mimosa house, Umi Sushi.

Well lighted parking lot, with security cameras at the front and side entrances - a necessity in the Central Valley, car theft capital of the USA!

Car missing? No problem, Mercedes Benz of El Dorado Hills on this side of freeway, 500 yards away.

We stayed a night here while on our way to Lake Tahoe. The location is very convenient. It is close to grocery stores, restaurants and Target. Our room was at the first floor overlooking the lake. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The breakfast was decent and good. When we were there, the swimming pool was closed during the winter.

Gayle and I just returned from a 6 week vacation that started in Dubai, followed by cruise stops in Oman, the Seychelles, Mauritius, Reunion, Madagascar (Nosy Be) and various South Africa stops ending in Cape Town. After that it was about 3 weeks in Cape Town, the Stellenbosch-area wine county, Jo'Burg, Pilgrims Rest, Afrikaans farm country, and Kruger. Unfortunately, Yelp does not support most of my adventures, so I'll need to figure out another way to share these sometimes wonderous experiences (such as seeing all Big 5 animals in Kruger).

So what does this all have to do with this Holiday Inn Express? Well, after 2 10+ hour plane rides (Johannesburg to London to SFO), a long layover in Heathrow, and a ride from the Airport to our car (parked in San Ramon), we were too damn tired to drive all the way home to Genoa. Plus, there have been a lot of storm events when were gone and even though our drive was during a lull in these atmospheric events, we didn't want to chance the combination of night, maybe slick mountain roads, and fatigue.

So, I booked a night at this Holiday Inn express to get a good night sleep and start the day our right the next morning. That would provide us a comfortable 2-hour drive in clear weather during the day. Plus, there was a Rayley's Supermarket across the freeway which allowed us to come home and stock the kitchen before the next storm hit.

The hotel is conveniently located within El Dorado Hill's City Center development, which would have allowed us a good dinner. However, after being well fed by Virgin Atlantic (lounge and plane), we were too tired to be hungry.

The room was spacious, the shower was hot and strong, our bed was comfortable, and we certainly appreciated good Wi-Fi after a good deal of hit and miss in South Africa. We also thought that their free hot breakfast was better than expected. So in sum, this Holiday Inn Express experience was everything we had hoped it to be and perhaps a little more.

I really don't appreciate this hotel changing my accessible room with two queen bed reservation- to a king with a rollaway. And then acting like that is what I reserved when I checked in because they overbooked that room type.

Clean and friendly environment. I especially enjoy the Starbucks and work/lounge area in the lobby. Great breakfast and snack options!

Wish I could give MORE STARS! We love it. From the moment we walked in to check in. Friendly staff, great atmosphere. Patio, very unexpected, lake for late night walk perhaps..I have nothing "snarky" to say, for once.

I wish I could leave zero stars but that's not an option.

I am trying very diligently to cancel a reservation for a nights stay but this hotel and staff are not willing to be accommodating. Saying they need a managers approval but the manager is off until Monday which is the day of the reservation. The front desk staff was is extremely condescending while speaking with them. I am So unbelievably upset.

I will never book with this hotel again.

This place in the summer months is basically a day care center. Moms book a room so they can bring a slew of kids to play in the pool all day long. The noise of kids screaming and carrying on ruins any chance for a decent swim or a soak in the hot tub, which sucks because it is 101 degrees out.

I get that it is a cheaper than Disneyland, but is it really appropriate to use a hotel as your personal go-to day care?

Right now on a Tuesday at 10 am, I count eight kids in the pool.

This hotel has gone progressively downhill this past year or two. It is in desperate need of a remodel, new wifi, and new management. The location is fabulous, but there are too many cons that outweigh the location. The front desk clerks are great, but the general manager is terrible.
